Ropes & Gray names second partner in spinoff firm

Ropes & Gray has announced the appointment of James Haley as a name partner at a new firm being established by Ropes & Gray.

The announcement comes as the new firm—to be called Haley Guiliano—prepares to launch later this year.

In March, Ropes & Gray announced that it would be restructuring its IP rights management practice and working closely with partner Joe Guiliano to establish a new firm.

The new firm, to be based in New York, will house much of Ropes & Gray’s IP rights management business.

Ropes & Gray described Haley as “one of the most distinguished IP lawyers in the US” in the announcement.

Haley focuses his practice on patent prosecution and IP rights management.

“Our focus has always been on providing the highest standards of IP rights management and litigation counselling to our clients,” said Haley in a statement.

“I believe this innovative restructuring is the best way to achieve that goal.”
