Perkins Coie boosts Portland office with litigator

Perkins Coie has strengthened its Portland, Oregon office with the addition of Renée Rothauge, who joins from Markowitz Herbold.

Rothauge, who previously spent nine years as a trial lawyer at Markowitz, focuses her practice on complex business litigation.

Jessica Everett-Garcia, chair of the firm’s litigation practice, said: “Renée is an exceptionally talented litigator renowned for her legal skills and successful track record in Oregon and beyond. Renée’s courtroom capabilities are formidable, and she has a proven ability to defend and win cases on behalf of clients.”

With three decades of courtroom trial experience, Rothauge has represented clients in licensing and shareholder disputes, and IP matters—including trademarks, trade secrets, unfair competition, copyrights, and patents.

“Renée’s addition to the Portland commercial litigation group is a big win for Perkins Coie,” said Portland office managing partner Chris Rich. “She is dynamic and creative in her practice and in her approach to business development and will be a huge asset to our local and national clients and further strengthens our position in the Portland market as a top-tier litigation team.”
