Herbert Smith Freehills has recruited Olivier Haas as counsel in its Paris IP group.
Haas specialises in media and communications, copyright, IT, Internet and telecommunications. Before joining the firm he practised for more than eight years at Franklin in Paris.
He will advise the firm’s clients in the new technologies sector, as well as clients in other sectors requiring IT products and services or which are developing specific new technologies such as banking, insurance and agrifood.
Haas said the company’s practice is “highly regarded internationally” and he is “delighted to join this excellent practice with such a high calibre team”. He added: “I look forward to working with this group of outstanding specialists, not only in Paris but across the international network, to further expand our already very successful practice regionally and globally.”
