Mewburn Ellis hires partner in Munich

IP law firm Mewburn Ellis has hired Dydra Donath as a partner in Munich, following her departure from Winter, Brandl, Fürniss, Hübner, Röss, Kaiser, Polte.

Donath will help to further develop the European trademark practice and drive forward the firm’s German trademark practice.

She specialises in all areas of German, European and international trademark law, including managing large trademark portfolios globally, handling application, opposition, invalidation and revocation proceedings, and coordinating legal cases worldwide.

Her sector focuses include medical technology, pharmaceuticals, automobile, retail and fashion.

Donath said she was delighted to join the firm as it undergoes a period of “impressive growth”.

“I very much look forward to helping drive that growth still further, not least in relation to the firm’s European Union Intellectual Property Office work, for which it has an excellent reputation,” she said.

The firm established its Munich office, which is based near the European Patent Office, in November 2017. It also has four UK bases— in London, Bristol, Cambridge and Manchester.
