Mathys & Squire hires TM associate from Womble Bond Dickinson
UK-based IP firm Mathys & Squire has bolstered its trademark practice with the appointment of Robin Richardson as an associate.
Richardson joins the firm from transatlantic law firm Womble Bond Dickinson, where he has worked as a trademark executive for two years.
As well as being a qualified trademark attorney, Richardson is an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He will soon be qualified as a solicitor in the UK.
Gary Johnston, partner and co-head of the trademark team at Mathys & Squire, said that Richardson's extensive trademark skills and international experience will complement the capabilities of the firm’s trademark practice.
He continued: “Robin has a strong passion for solving domain name, trademark, copyright and internet-based legal issues which will add to our offering to clients. He will be a great asset to the firm.”
Richardson has several years of experience in matters involving trademarks, domain names, and copyright. He has filed and prosecuted trademark applications worldwide, including in the UK, EU, and Africa.
Over the course of his career, Richardson has worked with large multinational clients as well as newly formed start-ups.
Of his appointment, Richardson said: “I look forward to working with the firm, its innovative clients and contributing to the firm’s continued growth and development.”
Richardson began his career with Kisch IP in South Africa, before moving to Womble Bond Dickinson in the UK in 2018.
