J A Kemp to open office in France

J A Kemp has expanded its operations in Europe, with the addition of an office in Paris.

Graham Lewis and Jimmy Nicholls, two patent attorney partners, will relocate from the UK and head up the office which will launch in February.

They will be joined by James Fish, who will lead the firm’s trademark operation in Paris. Patent attorney partner Dominic Forsythe is due to join the team later in 2018.

The Paris office will provide the full range of patent, trademark and design services, including drafting, prosecution, oppositions, appeals, advice on IP strategy and portfolio management.

The newest office reflects a 30% increase in headcount over the past five years, and follows the opening of a Cambridge office two years ago.

Alongside London and Oxford, J A Kemp has had an office in Munich since the 1970s, when the European Patent Office was first founded.
