Hogan Lovells appoints first woman as Europe managing partner
Hogan Lovells has announced the appointment of Marie-Aimée de Dampierre as new regional manager for continental Europe, the first woman to hold the position.
Her role will be effective as of July 1.
The jurisdiction represents over a quarter of Hogan Lovells’ revenue and is home to some of the firm’s key clients. The region is made up of over 700 lawyers.
De Dampierre joined Hogan Lovells 19 years ago and she has a focus on local and international disputes in trademark and copyright law, design law, and unfair competition. She was one of the first lawyers to advise on major deals involving the securitisation of IP.
“I am honoured to be representing the continental Europe region, which is so critical to the firm’s global strategy,” said de Dampierre.
“We have significantly grown our practice over the last five years, with revenue growing over 30%. Our footprint in Europe is core to many of the firm’s key cross-border transactions and disputes.”
De Dampierre will take on the role from Burkhart Goebel, who has held the position for the last four years. Goebel has been appointed global head of the firm’s IP practice.
