HGF acquires Grant Spencer
IP law firm Harrison Goddard Foote has acquired London trademark practice Grant Spencer LLP.
The two firms will be merged under the HGF brand.
Grant Spencer, previously Grant Spencer Caisley & Porteous, has provided trademark and design protection and enforcement services since 1974.
HGF was set up in 1995 and is a full service firm with six specialist business groups – chemistry and pharmaceuticals; electronics and software; engineering; life sciences; nanotechnology and trademarks – and 10 UK offices.
Claire Hutchinson, principal at Grant Spencer, said: “I am delighted to be joining forces with such a leading firm.”
Paul Sanderson, chief executive of HGF Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, said Hutchinson “has a great reputation” and added: “her client base is an excellent fit with HGF.”
David Potter, HGF’s head of trademarks added: “The HGF Trade Mark Group is already extremely successful nationally and internationally … with Claire Hutchinson and her team, we can build further on this existing platform”.
