Glaser Weil adds IP partner from McKool Smith

Los Angeles-based law firm Glaser Weil has named Lawrence Hadley as a partner and chair of its IP department.

Hadley will be based in the firm’s Century City and Orange County offices in California.

He served as principal attorney at McKool Smith for six years before joining Glaser Weil, and brings over 25 years of experience with him. He previously spent eight years as an attorney at Los Angeles-based firm O’Melveny and Myers.

Hadley advises on IP matters relating to patents, copyright, trademarks and trade secrets. He has represented clients in federal and state courts, as well as the International Trade Commission.

Before entering the legal profession, Hadley was a commercial ship and naval officer. His industry knowledge includes patent litigation, copyright litigation and federal appeals. Hadley has represented clients in sectors such as technology, automotives and agriculture.

Patricia Glaser, chair of the firm’s litigation department, said Hadley’s “experience working on unique and broad intellectual property litigation in the technology and material science industries adds tremendous value and enables the firm to offer supplementary resources to better serve our clients”.
