CMS adds two senior hires to its IP team in the UK
CMS bolsters its Sheffield office with both a senior patent attorney and a senior trademark attorney.
International law firm CMS has added two senior hires to its IP team in the UK.
Sarah Klaczynska becomes senior patent attorney, and Katie Goulding becomes senior trademark attorney at its Sheffield office.
Goulding, who is recognised by WIPR as a ‘Leader’ and an ‘Influential Woman in IP’, is experienced in managing and developing IP strategies for businesses of all sizes, domestically and internationally.
She spent 10 years at the Leeds office of IP specialist firm HGF before joining CMS, and has established a reputation helping start-ups to secure IP funding and grow their IP.
She has also collaborated with a FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) brand to develop its internal IP policy and strategy.
Eleanor Merrett, CMS IP partner, said of the moves: “We’re delighted to welcome Sarah and Katie to the team. Both bring world-class expertise to the firm, and they will be key to the continued growth and success of our IP offering.”
Klaczynska brings more than 15 years’ experience of advising clients in the life sciences sector. She joins CMS after five years at GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines, where she led the patent team supporting GSK’s research and development centre in Siena, Italy.
During this time, she gained expertise in vaccine technologies, and in developing IP strategies to protect vaccine innovation.
