WBD hires patent partner for LA office
The attorney joins from Ladas & Parry and he brings expertise in electronic and computer software technologies, automotive technologies and artificial intelligence.
Womble Bond Dickinson has appointed Young Seok Koo as a partner in its patent prosecution and litigation practice group in Los Angeles.
A registered patent attorney, he joins from Ladas & Parry, where he spent more than 12 years of his career.
Koo focuses his practice on US and foreign patent prosecution, opinion work and due diligence and he counsels on infringement, validity, and pre-litigation strategies, as well as trademark and trade secret law.
His technological knowledge spans a broad range of electronic and computer software technologies in a variety of fields, including automotive technologies, multimedia codecs, mobile and wireless communications, artificial intelligence and machine learning and medical devices.
Before relocating to the US, Koo worked at Y.P. Lee, Mock & Partners in Seoul, South Korea, where he focused on registering, licensing, and strategising the makeup and presentation of patent portfolios for large-cap companies.
He graduated from Washington University School of Law and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Yonsei University in South Korea.
