Squire Patton Boggs announces new partnership
Squire Patton Boggs has combined with Japan-based law firm Mamiya Law Offices to improve its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
The combination comes shortly after Squire Sanders and Patton Boggs merged services to span more than 20 countries with around 1,500 lawyers.
Mamiya Law Offices was founded in 2008 by Jun Mamiya and specializes in domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions as well as international trade, litigation and arbitration.
Ken Kurosu, Squire Patton Boggs’ managing partner in Tokyo, said it had developed a strong relationship with Mamiya, having first worked together almost 20 years ago.
“Not only do we share a number of major public institutional clients, but there are synergies with our financial services and IP practices in Tokyo, which will lead to new and exciting opportunities in Japan as well as elsewhere around the world,” Korosu added.
Following the merger Squire Patton Boggs now has nearly 40 lawyers in Tokyo and more than 140 lawyers in the Asia-Pacific region.
