Schulte Roth & Zabel recruit new IP head

Edward Sadtler has joined  Schulte Roth & Zabel as a partner and head of the IP, sourcing and technology group.

Sadtler, who will be based in the New York office, joins from Kirkland & Ellis where he worked from 2004.

His broad-ranging practice focuses primarily on IP, as well as the technology, privacy and data security sectors.

He has counselled clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including the transfer of IP assets.

Stuart Freedman, co-chair of the firm’s M&A and securities group, said Sadtler’s “broad transactional experience and problem-solving approach make Edward a great addition to our deal team”.

Richard Presutti, also co-chair of the group, added that Sadtler had “high-level expertise advising on IP and technology issues, and his sophisticated practice bolsters our transactional capabilities”.
