Osborne Clarke has recruited Will James as a partner in its London office.

James joins from  Marks & Clerk, effective yesterday, April 15.

He specialises in patent litigation and also advises clients on commercial patent matters and technical due diligence.

With extensive experience across a number of sectors such as including biotech and pharmaceuticals, James has counselled clients on product lifecycle issues and technical due diligence.

According to a press release, he has also worked on cases involving biosimilar and generic drugs patents, as well as “originator versus originator” cases.

James has also litigated patent disputes related to standard-essential patents and computer-related patents in the electronics sector.

Leona Briggs, partner at head of Osborne Clarke’s dispute and risk practice group, said James brings “top quality experience in high-profile life sciences and tech patent litigation” to the firm.

“Will’s energy and enthusiasm is aligned to our culture, style and ambitious plans for the future,” Briggs added.
