Orrick welcomes two patent lawyers from Weil
Orrick has announced that Jared Bobrow and Jason Lang have joined the firm’s Silicon Valley office as co-chair of the firm’s global IP practice and partner in the patent litigation group, respectively.
The new additions have joined Orrick from Weil Gotshal & Manges, where Bobrow co-chaired the firm’s patent litigation practice and Lang acted as counsel.
Bobrow’s expertise includes patent litigation and trade secrets matters, with a particular focus on the semiconductor, communications, cloud computing, and medical device industries.
Over the course of his career Bobrow has represented clients in federal courts as well as before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He will join Sten Jensen in co-leading Orrick’s global IP team.
Lang’s expertise includes communication technologies and software applications, and he has litigated cases before district courts and state courts as well as the International Trade Commission.
He has managed inter partes re-examinations and parallel patent office proceedings, and his clients have included Intel and Hitachi.
Mitch Zuklie, chairman of Orrick, said IP litigation is an “essential part” of the firm’s tech sector offering.
Bobrow said: “Orrick has built a top IP litigation practice, and has a reputation more broadly as an elite trial and appellate team. The firm’s culture of collaboration, innovation, diversity and investing in the next generation of talent is exactly what today’s market demands.”
