Mintz adds Fish & Richardson high-tech patent prosecutor
Mintz has hired high-tech patent attorney Frank Gerratana as a member of its IP division in Boston.
His practice focuses on helping investors obtain patents for new computer technologies, including cryptocurrency and blockchain systems, social media applications, autonomous vehicles and medical tools and devices.
Gerratana also works with both startup and established international companies to develop and manage their patent portfolios, which involves advising on patent preparation, prosecution, due diligence and general counselling.
Bob Bodian, managing member at Mintz said: “Frank adds to our strength in patent prosecution in the computer and electrical areas. Our innovator clients will benefit greatly from his ability to design robust strategies that protect their intellectual property assets and help them grow their businesses."
Before joining Mintz, Gerratana was a principal at boutique IP firm Fish & Richardson. He originally joined the firm as a summer intern in 2007.
Michael Renaud, chair of Mintz’s IP division said: “Frank is a highly accomplished and versatile advisor.
“His addition further bolsters the firm’s existing patent prosecution capabilities and his expertise is complementary to our multidisciplinary team of attorneys serving clients in the fintech sector.
“Furthermore, his collaborative approach and reputation for prompt, creative, proactive service will be a valuable addition to our IP team.”
