Jones Day adds Kristina Hendricks to IP practice

Global law firm Jones Day has announced that former Kirkland & Ellis patent attorney Kristina Hendricks has joined its Chicago IP practice as partner.

Hendricks has represented clients across the tech space in patent and trade secrets disputes in both district court and International Trade Commission litigation and also has extensive experience in inter partes review proceedings.

Throughout her career, she has worked with companies in the computer hardware and software, telecommunications, fintech, and internet security markets.

In her prior position at Kirkland & Ellis, Hendricks represented aerial imaging company EagleView in a patent infringement case with rival Xactware in which the jury awarded EagleView $125 million in damages.

Anthony Insogna, practice leader of Jones Day’s IP practice said: “Kristina’s professional track record, scientific background, and litigation skills make her a tremendous addition to our practice comprised of experienced trial lawyers and scientifically trained patent lawyers.

“As the pace of advancement continues to accelerate in a world of rapidly changing technology, her experience will be extremely valuable for our technology-driven clients. I am pleased to welcome her to Jones Day.”

Prior to starting her legal career, Hendricks worked as an electrical engineer in the semiconductor industry and studied Chinese IP law at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

She earned her law degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology and her engineering degree from the University of Texas.

Prior to joining Jone Day, Hendricks served at Kirkland & Ellis for 12 years as both associate and partner.

Tina Tabacchi, partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s Chicago office said: "Kristina has spent more than a dozen years cultivating a reputation as a respected IP attorney here in Chicago and also volunteers her time with important organisations, such as serving on the Board of Directors for Illinois Legal Aid Online.

“Her skills as a lawyer and her commitment to our community make her a wonderful addition to our office.”
