Honigman Miller buys Schopf, hires IP lawyer

Law firm Honigman Miller Schwartz & Cohn has bought Chicago-based firm Schopf & Weiss.

The firm has also hired two partners, Gregory Morris and René Ghadimi.

Morris focuses on patent litigation and post-grant proceedings, while Ghadimi focuses on financing transactions and private equity firms. Morris joins from Paul Hastings, where he was a counsel. Ghadimi previously worked as a counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

David Foltyn, chairman and chief executive officer of Honigman, said: “The addition of two experienced partners in René and Gregory is just the beginning of our growth in Chicago.”
