US-based law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath has expanded its IP group by hiring David Higer as a partner in its Chicago office.
Higer joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
He has experience assisting clients with patent litigation and has worked on cases involving digital imaging technology, gaming technology, medical devices and telecommunications.
Andrew Kassner, chairman and CEO of Drinker Biddle, said Higer’s experience with major cases across a variety of industries boosts the capabilities of the firm’s growing IP group.
Higer has represented clients in different areas of patent litigation, including trial and appellate litigation and post-grant review. He has also handled inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
