DLA Piper announces new co-heads of IP practices

DLA Piper has announced new co-heads of its IP and technology, and patent prosecution practices.

Partners Matthew Satchwell and Keith Medansky have been unveiled as co-heads of the Chicago-based IP and technology practice, while Nicholas Papastavros has been named as head of IP and technology in Boston.

Boston-based partner Larissa Park has also been named as co-head of DLA Piper’s patent prosecution practice.

Park specialises in patent and IP strategy, counselling, prosecution, diligence, and litigation in the US focusing on the tech sector. She will join Daniel Christenbury as co-head of the patent prosecution practice.

Satchwell and Medansky succeed Christina Martini in Chicago. Satchwell focuses his practice on representing clients in the automotive device, semiconductor, integrated circuit, navigation and mobile communication sectors, among others.

Meanwhile, Medansky’s practice focuses on trademarks, copyright, software, anti-counterfeiting and technology. He has a particular focus on counselling clients on protecting website content and domain names, as well as developing copyright policies.

Papastavros’s practice focuses on technology-related litigation and licensing matters. He has a particular emphasis on patent, trade secret, trademark and copyright disputes.
