Dentons has strengthened its IP and technology (IP&T) and life sciences practices with the addition of Dechert partner Marianne Schaffner.

Based in France, Schaffner joins from Dechert where she headed the firm’s IP group in Paris and co-headed the life sciences group.

Her team, which includes of counsel Pierre-Olivier Ally and associate Clémence Boland, have also joined Dentons.

Schaffner is a well-known patent litigator and has experience in the healthcare, chemistry, technology and telecoms sectors.

Denis Voevodin, head of the Europe IP&T group, said: “Marianne's arrival within our IP&T team is a tremendous asset. Her experience in various jurisdictions will support Dentons’ ability to help our clients in any country and always with the same high standard.”

Schaffner added: “This is a great opportunity to join a truly global and highly reputable IP&T team, which offers clients quality advice anywhere in the world, while also offering the agility to adapt to local market needs.”
