Comparison site for IP renewal services launched
Patent Annuity Costs (PAC), which consults with patent owners on how to manage patent annuities, has launched a comparison website for IP renewal services.
Brandstock, 42Patents and Pavis are the three suppliers currently participating in CompareIP.com, which PAC claims is the world’s first comparison site for IP renewal services.
As the operator of the service, PAC will verify IP owners but won’t disclose their identities to suppliers.
IP owners share the number of registered IP rights they hold and, after receiving responses from suppliers, can choose whether to make contact.
A new online service has been launched that gives IP owners a quick, free and discreet means of comparing the charges of selected renewal payment service providers.
Peter Rouse, director of PAC, said: “CompareIP.com brings much needed transparency to the IP renewal sector and allows IP owners to make informed choices based on price and the added-value services that suppliers have to offer.”
He noted that the three suppliers have embraced the opportunity to participate and “and aren’t afraid of transparency”.
“My hope is that others will also want to join in,” he added.
