CMS adds partners to Europe offices

Fifty partners have been appointed to CMS Cameron McKenna across Europe, including four who practise intellectual property.

The promotions span 12 offices across key sectors and practices including competition, corporate, employment, energy, financial services, TMT and real estate.

New partners in CMS’s IP practice are Anne- Laure Villedieu (Paris); Dr Heike Blank and Michael Kamps (Cologne); and Frank Linde (Hamburg).

Villedieu studied for postgraduate degrees in business and communication law at the Sorbonne and joined CMS in March 1998. She has published extensively in both French and English.

Blank, who joined CMS in 2001, carries out forensic and advisory work in the field of unfair competition, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and trademark law. In her forensic work, the focus is on major German and international companies, in particular, in connection with interim injunctions. She advises companies ahead of product launches and on new marketing methods and concepts, especially where new media are involved. Blank is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (GRUR).

Kamps has been a member of the IP/IT and media team of the Cologne office of CMS since 2005. His practice focuses on all legal questions regarding information law compliance including data protection/privacy, information technology law, e-commerce/e-media, copyright law, unfair competition law, and media/press law.

He is also assistant professor for information law at the Cologne-based International Film School.

Linde specialises in IP and competition law. He studied law at Hamburg University, gaining a postgraduate LLM at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He has been with CMS Hamburg since March 2005.

Duncan Weston, managing partner of CMS in London commented: “Our 50 new partners in various offices across Europe will strengthen the scope and scale of our practice areas and will add depth to the sector expertise that we offer our clients.”
