BakerHostetler adds IP trial lawyer from Foster Pepper

Douglas Grady has joined BakerHostetler as a partner in Seattle, Washington, after working at Foster Pepper for more than seven years.

Grady is an IP litigator who has appeared in more than 75 cases in courts and tribunals across the US. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, technology businesses, entrepreneurs, and governments, and his IP expertise includes patent, trademark, and trade secret matters.

Over the course of his career, Grady has gained in-depth experience of technologies such as application software, integrated circuits, cellular communications, and electrical digital data.

In addition to his trial work, Grady counsels companies on strategic IP asset development and transactional matters relating to IP and internet/domain name laws.

He also serves as a special assistant attorney general to Washington’s attorney general Bob Ferguson, a role in which he advises the state on IP disputes.

Mark Tidman, chair of BakerHostetler’s IP group, said: “As innovation storms forward at a constantly increasing pace, our technology clients across the country and internationally require attorneys like Doug who can understand their needs and protect their most vital corporate assets.”
