Ashurst snatches up Clyde & Co’s UK IP head
Ashurst has boosted its team with the addition of the former head of Clyde & Co’s IP team in the UK.
David Wilkinson joins Ashurst as a partner in the firm’s London disputes team.
He has more than 20 years’ experience handling disputes and transactions involving patents, trademarks, copyright, designs and confidential information.
Wilkinson has advised clients in a range of sectors including IT, media, telecoms, life sciences and consumer goods.
Simon Bromwich, head of Ashurst’s disputes division, explained that Wilkinson’s appointment is a key part of the firm’s strategy to develop its IP practice, with an immediate focus in London.
“David’s expertise in covering both contentious and non-contentious work in a broad range of areas is also a perfect complement to our existing international IP capabilities,” he said.
Wilkinson added: “Ashurst’s strong brand combined with its leading position in IP in Australia and notable client base makes joining the firm a compelling proposition. I am excited to be joining an impressive team which already acts for many leading clients in the IP world.”
