Aon appoints Lex Machina founder as IP solutions lead

Global professional services firm Aon has appointed a new chief product officer to lead its IP solutions team.

Joshua Walker, who joins from Aleph.Legal where he was the CEO, will lead the team in their development of consulting, valuation and risk transfer offerings in IP.

He will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Walker, who will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office, has more than 16 years experience in IP and “big data” law in Silicon Valley. He also co-founded and led Lex Machina, an IP litigation research company.

John Bruno, the CEO of Aon’s data and analytic services welcomes Walker to the team.

“We know that data, and more importantly the understanding of it, is now a cornerstone of every organisation,” he said.

Bruno added: “Joshua’s wide-ranging experience, from building a business from the ground up to the realities of data’s impact in the courtroom, will be pivotal as we continue to change the conversation around intangible assets.”

Lewis Lee, the CEO of Aon’s IP solutions team said Walker “brings incredible insight to the team”.

“We look forward to continuing to collaborate on solutions to identify and manage risks surrounding proprietary data and maximise value for our clients,” he said.
