Allen & Overy appoints global IP head

Law firm Allen & Overy has appointed Nicola Dagg as global head of intellectual property.

Dagg, who is a partner at the firm, previously served as head of the IP litigation practice in London.

According to the firm, a significant proportion of Dagg’s work involves the enforcement and licensing of patents.

She also has experience in trademarks, copyright, designs, and breach of confidence.

Dagg will be taking over from Geert Glas, the current head of the international IP group, who is based in Brussels. Her appointment is effective in May this year.

She will be standing down as head of the Allen & Overy life sciences group, with the process to appoint a successor currently underway.

In December last year, Dagg gave the opening speech at Life Sciences Patents Network Europe, an event hosted by sister site LSIPR in London.

Dagg also discussed in a video interview the issues on the horizon at both the English Court of Appeal and the UK Supreme Court.

David Stone has been appointed as the global head of the firm's IP brands practice. He specialises in trademarks, and registered and unregistered designs.

Nicola Dagg is a WIPR Leader for 2016. Her profile is available  here.
