A&O’s global IP head departs for Kirkland & Ellis
Kirkland & Ellis has hired Nicola Dagg, the former head of Allen & Overy’s global IP practice, as a partner in the firm’s London office.
Dagg focuses her practice on patent litigation and breach of confidence disputes, and has particular experience in highly scientific and technologically advanced matters.
Jeffrey Hammes, chairman of Kirkland’s global management executive committee, said that Dagg is “one of the leading lights of the UK IP community”.
He added: “Her experience is quite complementary to our existing practice and will be particularly useful to our life sciences and technology clients as they defend their IP round the world.”
Dagg was appointed as global head of Allen & Overy’s IP practice in February last year, after serving as head of the IP litigation practice in London.

A spokesperson for Allen & Overy said: “We would like to thank her for the contribution she has made during her time at Allen & Overy and wish her all the best for the future.”
