IPH reveals managing director of Canada firm
New director has co-led firm’s substantial trademarks and business law practice groups | Network acquired Quebec-based firm in 2023, establishing Canada as the largest region for the group.
IPH has announced that Dario Pietrantonio has been appointed as the managing director of Robic, a firm based in Quebec, Canada and a member firm of the global IP services group.
Pietrantonio is a registered lawyer and trademark agent who joined the ROBIC team in 1994 and was made partner in 2002.
A longstanding member of the firm’s executive committee, he has co-led both its trademarks and business law practice groups.
“We are thrilled to announce Dario’s appointment as managing director,” said Andrew Blattman, managing director and CEO of IPH which acquired the IP agency practice of Robic in November last year.
“Dario brings significant expertise across IP practice and has a strong understanding of Robic’s culture and business operations.”
Speaking about his appointment, Pietrantonio said, “I am excited to support the Robic team in this capacity. Robic is a leading IP business with a strong reputation and extensive history, and I am honoured to take on this role.
“I believe in the strength and expertise of our people, and the high-quality service we provide to our clients, and look forward to leading the business to further growth.”
Robic was founded in Montreal in 1892 and is one of the most prolific filers of trademarks in Canada.
IPH acquired Robic in 2023, establishing Canada as the largest region for the group. The group expanded into Canada in 2022 and now employs more than 500 people across its Canadian firms.
