Orrick recruits ‘rising star’ to focus on tech patent litigation
The new partner boosts Orrick’s litigation practice, and brings key trial experience for high-stakes tech patent disputes.
Wes White has been appointed partner in the global IP litigation team at Orrick’s New York office.
His focus will be on high-stakes patent disputes in the tech sector.
White brings experience as a member of trial teams on major patent cases in federal courts across the US, including Delaware and the Eastern District of Texas.
His litigation practice covers patents related to computer hardware and software, e-commerce, video/media streaming, life sciences, medical devices and other technologies. This includes a key role on a trial team that secured a nine-figure judgment in a patent infringement case, which was recognised as one of the top verdicts of 2020.
White joins from IP litigation boutique Reichman Jorgensen Lehman & Feldberg, where he was a partner, after starting his career at Desmarais.
His appointment follows the recruitment of Orrick’s life sciences IP team, consisting of David Gindler, Gary Frischling, Lauren Drake and John Lu from Milbank in November.
