Orrick expands team with K&L Gates lawyer
Orrick has strengthened its IP team with the addition of Scott Oliver in the firm’s Silicon Valley office.
Oliver, an experienced first-chair trial lawyer, joins from K&L Gates.
He has more than a decade of experience defending companies such as Meru Networks, Brocade Communications, Aruba Networks and others in district courts and at the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Oliver has experience in wireless technology, standards adoption, and standard-essential patent defences.
Denise Mingrone, leader of Orrick’s IP business unit, said: “Scott brings additional first-chair ITC and jury trial experience for leading technology and other companies. His experience in ITC proceedings and cases involving complex technologies is a perfect fit for our team.”
Oliver is also the former chair of the ITC committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
He said: “Orrick is a powerhouse litigation firm with a standout IP practice. Its strong focus on tech and its global platform provides additional advantages for my clients. I couldn’t be more excited about joining this team.”
