Judiciary names Mr Justice Arnold as Lord Justice of Appeal

The Queen of England has approved the appointment of English High Court judge Mr Justice Arnold as a Lord Justice of Appeal.

Announced by the Courts and Tribunal Judiciary yesterday, July 16, the judiciary said Mr Justice Arnold will take up his new position in Autumn this year.

The judiciary said the appointment had been made on the advice of Prime Minister Theresa May and the Lord Chancellor, David Gauke, following the recommendation of an independent selection panel.

Arnold began his career in 1985, when he was first called to the Bar of England and Wales and became a Queen's Counsel in 2000.

He was later appointed to be the judge in charge of the Patents Court in April 2013.

Mr Justice Arnold has adjudicated dozens of high-profile cases, including Warner-Lambert v Mylan & Actavis and most recently Conversant Wireless v Huawei.
