Jones Day unveils five new IP partners

Jones Day has appointed five new partners to its IP department, who will take up their positions on January 1, 2021.

According to an  announcement on December 17, the firm has promoted Da Guoping, in the firm's office in Shanghai, and Edouard Fortunet, who will carry out his new role in Paris, after spending more than a decade with the law firm.

Additional promotions in the US include Joshua Nightingale in Pittsburgh, Alexis Smith in Los Angeles and Stuart Yothers in New York, who have also become partners in the firm’s investigations and white collar defense practice, part of its global IP department.

The appointments are part of a wide-ranging suite of new partnerships, which has seen the firm promote 50 lawyers across its offices worldwide.

Stephen Brogan, managing partner of Jones Day, said: “The promotion of these new partners reflects Jones Day's ongoing commitment to developing and advancing lawyers throughout the world who have achieved the highest levels of professional accomplishment and who are devoted to advancing and protecting the interests of our clients and the institutional values of the firm”.
