Harbottle hires Eversheds head of IP and media

IP specialist Andrew Terry has joined Harbottle & Lewis as a partner in the firm’s IP litigation team.

Terry has more than two decades of experience handling IP, media and brand protection issues. He joins Harbottle from Eversheds Sutherland, where he was head of IP and media.

Throughout his career, Terry has worked with household name brands, sporting institutions and high-profile talent in media and entertainment, including major artists in the music industry.

Shireen Peermohamed, partner and head of IP, Harbottle & Lewis, said: “Andrew has developed a well-earned reputation as a trusted advisor to many distinguished brands, businesses and individuals.

“He brings the ability to advise on the full IP lifecycle, as well as extensive experience in dispute resolution. His broader expertise, across a range of sectors, allows him to provide bespoke and strategic commercial advice and complements Harbottle & Lewis’ specialism in contentious IP matters.”

Glen Atchison, managing partner, Harbottle & Lewis, added: “With our IP litigation group going from strength to strength, Andrew’s hire signals the latest step in our continued growth trajectory and we look forward to working with him.”

Terry will join the nine-strong IP litigation team at the London-based firm which specialises in technology, media and entertainment.

Terry said: “I’ve experienced first-hand how important it is to provide a relevant strategic perspective to clients, whether in resolving their IP disputes or advising on commercialisation of their IP. I’m excited to join a firm that shares this vision and to work with colleagues from across the firm’s specialisms to deliver advice and solutions for our clients.”
