Gowling boosts Munich office with Maiwald hire
Gowling WLG has strengthened its team with the addition of a former Maiwald IP partner.
Thomas Mayer, who joins Gowling as a partner in the firm’s Munich office, previously served as one of Maiwald’s managing directors.
His primary focus is patent litigation, across a range of technologies. Mayer also has experience in handling cases involving employees’ inventions, designs and unfair competition.
He said he was looking forward to joining the team and that he is committed to further developing the IP practice in Munich.
Gordon Harris, Gowling’s global head of IP, added: “We are delighted to welcome Thomas to our team. His appointment adds another strong IP partner to our world-leading IP practice, and is the next step in our ambitious plans for our business in Germany.”
