Orrick boosts tech transactions team
Orrick has strengthened its tech transactions team with the addition of an Arnold & Porter partner in Washington, DC.
Colleen McDuffie, who joins the team as a partner, focuses on IP transactions and complex commercial agreements, and has worked extensively with Toyota on IP and technology transactions matters.
She has deep experience in the mobility technologies space, from clean fuel technologies to connected vehicles.
Matthew Gemello, leader of Orrick’s global corporate practice, said: “Colleen brings a deep understanding of what drives innovative companies and a market reputation for getting tech deals done efficiently and effectively.
“She is a valuable addition to our growing practice, at a time when innovation and data-driven collaborations are increasingly essential to how companies operate today.”
In addition to advising on technology licence and development agreements, strategic alliances, and data and cloud computing arrangements, McDuffie provides due diligence counseling on IP and technology assets in corporate mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings.
“I’m excited by the investment the firm is making in this space and the opportunity to work with my new colleagues to establish a market leading practice,” said McDuffie.
She is the third addition to Orrick’s tech transactions team this month, following the arrivals of life sciences licensing advisor Shana Solomon in Boston and technology transactions partner Faraaz Samadi in London.
