KDJLaw makes two appointments
Koh Dipendra Jeremiah Law (KDJLaw) has appointed a partner and an enforcement consultant to its IP and technology practice group in Malaysia.
Guna Selan Marian joins the firm as an enforcement consultant, with experience in enforcement involving IP rights, anti-profiteering, price control, investigation and prosecution of IP offences.
He has represented Malaysia in various IP meetings in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region and has held several key positions at state and federal level in the country.
Brian Law, joint-head of the IP and technology group, described Marian as a “recognised figure in the IP industry”.
He added: “He was instrumental in the formation of the national anti-counterfeit task force. He has not only been involved in the enforcement of IP rights but also in the prosecution of IP rights cases in the Malaysian courts.”
Cheah Chiew Lan joins KDJLaw as a partner. She advises clients from a diverse range of sectors including automotive, pharmaceutical, consumer products, food and beverage, luxury products, fashion and retail.
“We are pleased to have Chiew Lan join us. She brings with her ample experience on transactional IP matters such as licensing, franchising, regulatory advice for food, drug and labelling laws, as well as data protection and privacy issues,” Law added.
