Rimon expands team with pair of California lawyers
Silicon Valley and Los Angeles-based partners join firm to expand its IP offering.
Rimon has expanded its team by hiring David Case, as a Silicon Valley-based partner, and Hayk Mamajanyan, as a Los Angeles-based partner.
Case was a partner at Orrick Herrington and Sutcliffe, White & Case, and formed his own firm, Asia Pacific Advisory, in 2019.
Mamajanyan joined Rimon from HVM Law Firm where he was the founder and managing attorney.
Case brings his understanding of Japanese business and practices, having lived in Tokyo for 22 years. He will combine his legal experience with an understanding of cultural differences between the west and Japan.
Mamajanyan specialises in strategic and transactional matters, representing entrepreneurs, enterprises, high-net-worth individuals, and investors in mostly tech.
In addition, Mamajanyan serves as an external general counsel to early and late-stage companies, offering guidance on various business matters.
He managed corporate and project financing transactions, with a combined value exceeding $700 million.
Commenting on the move, Case said: “I am very excited to join Rimon. The move reunites me with a number of former colleagues from previous firms. The move also allows me to scale my offerings to clients in the US and around the world.”
Also commenting, Mamajanyan said: “What truly sets Rimon apart from its competitors is its commitment to innovation and empowering its lawyers to become more effective and efficient advisors for their clients. This cultural match truly resonated with me and pushed me towards this decision.”
“It is exciting to see that Rimon’s innovative model wins over more and more partners from top law firms, and it is wonderful to reconnect with David after many years at Orrick,” said Mikhail Usubyan, a partner based at Rimon’s office in Washington, DC.
“These latest additions to our rapidly growing team also attest to the appeal of Rimon’s broad international platform, seamlessly accommodating diverse practices from the US to Japan/Asia, from London to Armenia,” he added.
