WSGR promotes two IP lawyers to partner

Law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati ( WSGR) has elected 16 new partners, including two IP lawyers.

The promotions, effective February 1, 2019, were announced in a statement last week.

Ali Alemozafar works in the firm’s IP department, specialising in patents and innovations. He offers legal counselling to sectors in the life sciences industry, such as diagnostics, genomics, bioinformatics and artificial intelligence.

His practice includes patent strategy, prosecution and diligence. He has prepared and prosecuted patents in the US, Europe, China and Japan. Alemozafar is based in the firm’s South of Market office in San Francisco.

Tracy Rubin has expertise in technology transactions and is based in the firm’s Palo Alto office. She specialises in “complex intellectual property transactions” including technology asset carve-outs, spinouts and technology mergers and acquisitions.

She also advises clients on a range of licensing matters, and has represented companies including Dolby, LinkedIn and Logitech.

Ben Labow, who is an antitrust lawyer for the firm, also works in IP, providing advice on licensing.

Doug Clark, managing partner at WSGR, said that the “many talents and skills of these attorneys have been exemplified in the quality of the work”. Clark said the firm was “proud to welcome them as partners”.
