Vinson & Elkins hires new patent litigator
US-based law firm Vinson & Elkins has expanded its IP team with the appointment of patent specialist Darryl Woo as partner.
Woo, who will work in the firm’s San Francisco office as part of its national litigation practice, focuses on semiconductors, fibre optic networking and pharmaceuticals.
He joins the firm from Fenwick & West, where he served as chair of its patent litigation practice.
Jim Thompson, head of Vinson's global litigation department, said Woo would bring more than 30 years of patent and technology litigation experience.
“The addition advances our strategic goal of growing Vinson's litigation practice in San Francisco and across the nation,” Thompson added.
The firm’s litigation department has more than 250 lawyers around the world.
