Haynes Boone appoints seven partners including litigator

The seasoned patent litigator has experience in appeals before the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Haynes Boone has appointed seven new partners including patent litigator Jonathan Bowser for its office in Washington, DC/Northern Virginia.

Bowser specialises in patent litigation disputes before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and federal district courts.

Prior to his four years at the firm, Bowser was senior patent counsel at Unified Patents and a patent attorney at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC.

Haynes Boone managing partner Taylor Wilson described the appointments as an “honour” as the group is “incredibly talented”.

“We put an emphasis on mentorship and nurturing the careers of our lawyers and professional staff, and it’s gratifying to see this wonderful result,” added Wilson.

Bowser’s portfolio includes more than 100 America Invents Act trials before the PTAB, representing both patent challengers and owners.

He also handles appeals before the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and provides counsel on patent procurement, with a focus on electrical, computer, networking, and medical device technologies.

Bowser’s industry expertise covers social media, technology transactions, cloud computing, internet, networking, software, medical tech, AI, vehicle electrification, and streaming media.

He serves as the chair of the patent division at the American Bar Association  and holds the position of chair for the communications committee at the PTAB Bar Association.

Additionally, he is the editor-in-chief for the PTAB Bar Association Roundup, and the programming chair of the American IP Law Association PTAB trial committee.

Commenting on his appointment Bowser said in a LinkedIn post: “I’m proud and excited to be joining the partnership of Haynes Boone! It’s an honour to be joining the other talented partners at the firm, and I’m looking forward to the opportunities ahead.”

The seven new partners join the ranks of five others—three in London and two in Mexico City—who received partner promotions in July, completing the firm’s newest cohort of leaders.
