Dykema Cox hires senior counsel in Texas
US-based law firm Dykema Cox Smith has hired Van Lindberg as a senior counsel in the firm’s IP group in San Antonio, Texas.
Lindberg previously worked at cloud provider Rackspace as vice president of IP.
He has experience in patent law abuse and defence against patent trolls.
Lindberg has also represented companies in IP litigation and inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Dan Harkins, office managing member of the firm’s San Antonio office and member of the IP group, said: “Van’s reputation and extensive background precede him.”
He added: “His deep knowledge and experience in patent and technology transfer matters, combined with his highly technical experience in the world of open source software, will be of great benefit to not only our clients, but to the entire firm as well.”
