Loeb & Loeb appoints senior counsel in IP practice
US-based law firm Loeb & Loeb LLP has appointed a new senior counsel to its IP department.
David Newman will join the firm’s patent litigation and counseling practice, based in its Chicago office. He worked previously at Arnstein & Lehr LLP, where he was a partner.
Newman has more than twenty years’ experience in IP. He has worked in all areas, including patents, trademarks and copyright, representing both US and international companies in various disputes before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
“David’s impressive technical background and breadth of experience across litigation, prosecution and counseling matters will be a tremendous asset to our patent practice in Chicago and our national IP platform,” said Mark Waddell, chair of the firm’s patent litigation and counseling department.
He added: “As a go-to thought leader on a range of patent topics, David brings top-notch expertise that will deepen the level of service that we can offer clients in this area.”
“Loeb & Loeb’s full-service platform and top-notch bench of practitioners across the patent, trademark and copyright space make a firm fit for my practice,” Newman said. “I look forward to working with this sophisticated team.”
