Seyfarth Shaw recruits partner in Chicago
Seyfarth Shaw LLP has recruited a partner from McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP, who will work in its Chicago office.
Michael H. Baniak joins the IP litigation department. His practice covers prosecution, counselling and litigation spanning patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law. He has been involved in hundreds of IP lawsuits during his career, more than half of which involved patents. Recent patent litigation cases involved music subscription services, laser sintering, bone prostheses, telecommunications and automobile airbag technology.
“Mike brings his sophisticated and accomplished IP practice to the firm and adds a very broad litigation background and successful track record,” said Brian Michaelis, chair of Seyfarth’s IP practice group. “With more than 30 years of experience, Mike is an important addition to the group as we continue expanding our IP practice.”
