Technology patent experts join Frost Brown Todd

Former Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie partners join firm’s LA office | Bring experience in portfolio management and patent procurement and licensing | Specialising in mechanical, electromechanical, electrical systems, life sciences, chemistry, materials science, and optics.

Frost Brown Todd has appointed Anne Wang and Lauren Schneider as partners.

The duo join the firm's Los Angeles office, having both previously been partners at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie.

Barry Visconte, leader of the IP practice group at Frost Brown Todd, described the pair as “highly skilled” and “respected”.

With nearly 35 years of experience, Wang specialises in creating and managing patent portfolios in the mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical systems fields, including for optical lasers, computer graphics, apparel, cosmetics, toys and musical instruments.

Wang's background in physics gives her a particular familiarity with medical devices, interferometers, electro-mechanical devices, amusement park rides, and gas sensors and detectors.

She has also secured trademark portfolios for a wide variety of clients in the fashion, cosmetics, solar panels and roofing, food, restaurant, and office products industries.

Throughout her career, Wang has handled trademark matters, patent prosecutions, infringement actions, enforcement and licensing programs, and due diligence analysis.

Schneider brings over 20 years of experience to the firm, with a focus on US and international patent procurement, portfolio development, and licensing and monetisation.

She advises clients ranging from small corporations to major research institutions across diverse technical fields, including life sciences, chemistry, materials science, optics, and mechanics.

Her experience includes pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, food science, polymer chemistry, battery technology, thin film chemistry such as optical films and adhesives, medical devices, OLEDs, OLED chemistry, and optics.

Schneider also provides patentability, validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions, and her experience includes inter partes review proceedings at the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Raúl Salinas, partner-in-charge of Frost Brown Todd's Los Angeles office, said: “As two highly respected leaders in the IP space with deep ties to the region, we know Anne and Lauren will play an important role in enhancing our Los Angeles offering, particularly as California continues to be a hub for technology and life sciences innovation.”
