Overview

Gunars Gaikis is one of Canada’s premier and most experienced life sciences intellectual property litigators.  During his more than 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical patent, trademark and related litigation, he has shaped the law in the life sciences IP area through his trial and appellate work. Gaikis also counsels innovative clients in pharmaceutical patent procurement, data protection, the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board, IP lifecycle management and drug regulatory matters, and provides invaluable pre-litigation and due diligence advice. He is a frequent speaker at industry events around the world and has had numerous publications on matters related to his practice.
