Perkins Coie has boosted its trademark and copyright practice with the addition of Patchen Haggerty as partner.

Haggerty (pictured), who will join the Seattle office, was most recently a partner with Dorsey & Whitney LLP, also in Seattle.

She also handles trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings and application appeals before the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Patchen to Perkins Coie,” said Fred Rivera, managing partner of the firm’s Seattle office.

“Her exceptional background in global trademark prosecution, enforcement and IP transactional matters are well recognised and will be of great value to many of our clients.”

As well as trademarks, Haggerty also advises companies in managing the risks associated with the registration of new generic top-level domains and assists on copyright and trade secrets issues.

Founded in 1912, Perkins Coie has more than 900 lawyers in 19 offices across the US and Asia.
