Birss leaves PCC for High Court

Judge Colin Birss, the man who famously ruled that Samsung’s tablets were “not as cool” as Apple’s, has been appointed as a justice in the England & Wales High Court.

WIPR recently interviewed Birss, who has been the presiding judge at the Patents County Court since 2010. He will replace Mr Justice Briggs, who is moving up to the Court of Appeal.
