WIPR readers have unanimously agreed that conferences such as the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) annual meeting are most useful for networking, as opposed to learning.
We attended the conference in Orlando from May 21 to 25 and produced several newsletters from what was the largest ever INTA annual meeting. The conference brought together more than 10,000 brand management, trademark and IP professionals, and there were plenty of receptions for attendees to enjoy every evening.
The INTA committee is planning to repeat this year’s success in Barcelona next year, from May 20 to 24.
For more information on our INTA 2016 coverage, read the Weekend, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday roundups. We also produced a reception roundup on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Before the meeting, we asked readers what such conferences are most useful for, and 100% said networking.
For this week’s survey, we ask: “Last week the English Court of Appeal ruled that registering trademarks as a series does not breach an EU law that requires a trademark to be graphically represented in a clear, self-contained, easily accessible, intelligible, durable and objective manner. Do you agree with this position?”
