Weintraub Tobin adds ex-Covington & Burling litigator

California-based law firm Weintraub Tobin has boosted its intellectual property practice with the hire of a patent specialist.

Jo Dale Carothers will work in the firm’s San Diego office and joins from law firm Covington & Burling, where she was a partner.

Carothers has patent litigation and trial experience, as well as a background in trade secret litigation and licensing in the electrical and computer engineering sectors.

Michael Kvarme, the firm’s managing partner, said the addition would “significantly enhance and strengthen” Weintraub Tobin’s IP practice.
